Manufacturing Bootcamp for Small Business Owners

When business owners strategize ways to increase profits, their energy is usually focused on sales. However, working smarter, not harder, is the key to boosting the bottom line. Manufacturing Bootcamp will take place over three separate sessions and is directed at small to mid sized manufacturing companies. During these interactive workshops, you will learn the 'Whys' of Key Management Elements and Links to grow the bottom-line. Session One on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 9am to Noon-LEAN QUALITY: An overview of integrating Lean Principles into the Quality Management System (QMS). Learn how the QMS can improve throughput and grow the bottom-line. Topics covered include: • Why Lean Quality • What is Quality – best vs consistent • Lean Basics • Quality Standards Session Two on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 9am to Noon-INVENTORY MANAGEMENT AND SCHEDULING: The elements of the Sales & Operations planning process. Change is necessary with today’s pressures on low inventories and faster turn times. Identify tools to make inventory management and scheduling more effective. Topics covered include: • Basics • Sales & Operations planning • Production Planning vs daily scheduling • Pull vs Push Session Three on Thursday, October 25 2018 from 9am to Noon-STRATEGY: A look at the business from an external prospective. Understand the value proposition to customers. Set direction and tone for change. Topics covered include: • Why strategy is important • Process vs Plan • Product & Capabilities • Resources These classes are taught by Jim Gray, Ohio SBDC at Lakeland C.C. Business Advisor and Owner of JPG Advisors, LLC, a boutique engineering and business consulting firm for over 10 years, Jim has a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering along with an MBA. His experience includes working as an Aerospace Process Engineer, Manufacturing Executive at three different companies, and a Professional Business Consultant at Accounting, Law and Engineering firms. Please note, your one time payment of $349 is the total cost required to attend all three sessions. Register under this class and we will add you to the registration of the other two sessions that take place on 10/18/18 and 10/25/18 once your payment is verified. Payment must be made immediately following registration. The workshops are being held at Lakeland's Holden University Center. Register no later than October 9, 2018.
