Small Business Breakthroughs welcomes Rob Kopp, President of Rono Consulting, LLC. Rob is a serial entrepreneur who has started, grown, and successfully exited many businesses in Central Ohio. Rob works with small business owners as a business advisor, board member, and business strategist. Rob will share tips and recommendations to help you experience more success with your business.

Rob Kopp has a rich background in building and developing information technology-related businesses. As the founder and president of Metro Data Center, his 6th startup, Rob created a national footprint of metropolitan fiber networks, data centers, hybrid colocation-cloud solutions, and business accelerator development. Rob had a successful exit through a sale of the Metro Data Center to DartPoints in 2021.Rob also played a pivotal role in establishing the Dublin Entrepreneurial Center (DEC), which supports over 163 emerging start-up companies.

Previously, Rob served as the CIO of The Frank Gates Companies, a group specializing in employee benefit and risk management global services, overseeing 11 affiliated companies. His contributions were instrumental in forming the largest Managed Care Organization in Ohio, boasting over 1,700 employees. As the founder and CEO of Visual Risk Solutions, Rob focused on software and infrastructure hosting nationwide. Notably, Microsoft partnered with VRS to host more than 100,000 licensed copies of VRS software products and services worldwide.

Additionally, Rob has held the role of Section Chief over multiple high-profile Divisions in the State of Ohio’s Attorney's Office. He is a graduate of Delaware Tech, and he resides in Westerville, Ohio, with his wife Brenda and their three children.
