General Judging Criteria Overview
The competition is intended for pre-venture and start-up businesses seeking seed or startup money to launch or grow their business. The judges serve as early-stage venture capital investors deciding on which business(s) venture they feel should be funded through venture capital and/or a publicly funded loan. The process is for the contestants to introduce their idea, product, or service to a panel of experienced entrepreneurs and financial professionals who will serve as the panel of judges. The judges' role is to evaluate the presentation of the business plan, financial projections, and the likelihood of success and growth in the existing market.
The judging criteria will include:
- Executive Summary
- Mission, Goals and Objectives
- Background Information:
- Organizational Matters
- Marketing Plan
- Financial Plan
All submissions will first be reviewed by a selection committee. From those submissions, a limited number of participants will be chosen to pitch. Selected participants will be assigned a specific time slot during the event hours on May 5. Participants may bring their presentations on a USB flash drive or access them via Google Drive. Please be advised that the available equipment is NOT Apple-compatible.
