Non-Profit Tax Talk - 990's and so much more!

Apr
30
2014
Wed 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM
Topic: Tax Planning

Just for Not-for-Profit Organizations! You need to make every dollar count, but without sound financial management and a strong Board, it's oftentimes difficult to do more than merely survive in the Not-for-Profit arena. This discussion will help you to understand how accounting and tax knowledge can directly affect the fiscal stability of your not-for-profit organization and why you should rely on outside consultants to help guide you to make more informed decisions. Many of the Corrigan Krause not-for-profit team members are actively involved in not-for-profits and sit on Boards so they understand firsthand the scrutiny from government agencies, contributors and even members of the organization's Board of Trustees. Corrigan Krause is pleased to have Al Harsar and Ann Emery offer some guidance on these not-for-profit accounting and tax topics: 1) Preparation of IRS Form 990 (types and who needs to file), 2) General Accounting Best Practices; 3) When do you need an audit? 4) Internal Accounting Control Systems. Grants Plus founder, Lauren Steiner, will be joining the discussion to offer suggestions on Board Development and how to get the most out of grant applications. There will be a Q & A session afterwards.

Speaker(s): Al Harsar & Ann Emery

Co-Sponsor(s): Corrigan Krause - Certified Public Accountants
